Unemployment: 00’s vs. 90’s

John at Power Line blog responds to a Star Tribune looks at an interesting concept: unemployment in the 90’s was higher in the year of Clinton’s election to a second term than current–5.4 vs. 5.1 percent.

The press’ outlook during the re-election campaign of H.W. and the current campaign offer interesting perspective. The economy had been quite good in the first years of H.W. and W.’s presidencies. Towards the end we have witnessed slowdowns. On the contrary, the dot-com boom was only heating up in ’96.
