Bakken Update
Previously, I wrote about the Bakken formation as it related to energy policy and an article from the Examiner. Now, there is some great information regarding the expansion of drilling the Bakken formation at a blog called Next Big Future (hat tip: Instapundit).
What is especially interesting about that this is not an old formation. I was in the area in the summer of 2006. There was plenty of drilling already underway. The key is the new horizonal drilling technologies, among others, which allow for wells to gain access to deposits that would otherwise have been unrecoverable.
